Why you need a coach?
A life coach is for people who want to take their life to another level. They will help you navigate through all your thoughts and dreams and come up with a practical strategy to accomplish them. Hiring a life coach is an investment in your future.
Since I work with a lot of parents, I help them to realize that your life doesn’t have to be put on pause just because you have a family. You can be a great parent and still have a successful and thriving business simultaneously. You will have to be intentional with your activities along with prioritizing things in different seasons. However I will help walk you through how this may look for you in the season you are currently in.
The Butterfly Story
I can’t think of anything that represents transformation more than a caterpillar turning into a butterfly. The transformation is similar to how our transformation can look.

Caterpillar
A caterpillar starts as an insect that can only see what is in front of him. He can only see the ground he walks on and what’s in front of him. In this season, he eats, and eats, and eats. He is not ready to go through the transformation process quite yet, but he is preparing himself for the time when he will go through that transformation process. He is feeding himself and growing in this season. Sometimes we need to be in a season that we are doing more learning than doing, especially if we have a mindset that needs to change. The caterpillar can eat up to 3000 times its body weight. You may be in a season where you need to change your mindset and feed yourself with people speaking into you in regards to who you can become.

Cocoon
After preparing for so long, the caterpillar makes his webbing and entangles himself in a cocoon that will be one of his life’s greatest challenges. He puts this challenge on himself because he knows the benefits and the new dimensions and levels he will be able to go to with wings. He ties himself up and puts himself in a situation that seems unfamiliar to him but having the expectation that the benefit of him going through this tough time will exceed the current feeling he has.
The man who came across the Cocoon
One day there was a man who came across a butterfly trying to come out of his cocoon. The man could see the butterfly trying its hardest to come out. The man looked and felt sorry for the butterfly but continued on his day. Later the man came by there to see the butterfly having the same struggle. Feeling more sympathetic to the struggling butterfly, he started thinking of ways that he could help him but continued to go on with his day. The next day came, and the man saw the struggling caterpillar still trying to get out of that cocoon. The man couldn’t help himself anymore. He got some scissors and carefully snipped the hole bigger so that the butterfly could come out. However, he was surprised to see that the butterfly wasn’t ready for the world. His body and wings were limp due to the lack of strength he would have gotten from the struggle he needed to go through in getting himself out of the cocoon.
The different challenges that we make it through in our own lives help to prepare us for our next season of greatness also. Some of the struggles and failures that we go through are actually building our muscles to be able to handle what we need in our next season. Trying to find a way to get out of the situation instead of embracing the lesson learn is like trying to take the easy way out.

Flying
After going through all of the pain and challenges and failures of living in a cocoon, the butterfly eventually makes it out and can see a whole new dimension of life with his wings. He eats nectar from flowers now, which is a food that he couldn’t obtain as a caterpillar, but his wings allow him to enjoy this now. He is considered an insect that has a very high tolerance because he weighs so little and can fly so far. Although he has reached this new transformation, there are still challenges that arise, but he now has what he needs to be able to get past those new challenges.

Joy
Whatever part of your transformation you may be in, it’s important to find the Joy within that time. Embrace the moment of learnings, the failures or lessons learned, and the successes gained. Realize the adventure makes you into who you are becoming, and the experiences along the journey are all a part of your story.
