Children’s Affirmations is a unique children’s book that helps to instill truthful affirmations within children causing them to build mental toughness while developing a healthy self-image. It starts with beautiful affirmation chants that show children using hand motions and reciting the chant. The book has pictures of the hand motions which allows children to visually see how to exert energy while they voice the chants which make the experience more fun and engaging. Because of the colorful images and the large words on the page, the children will enjoy saying the chant and reading the book on their own – over and over again! However, it is not just a book for kids; it is also a book for parents. “Children’s Affirmations” has a parent component that can assist parents in having a sense of awareness when speaking and encouraging their children. The component includes definitions, questions, stories, as well as parenting tips to help make each affirmation concept come alive to the child. Ultimately, it combines affirming chants with techniques that parents can use to encourage their children to have a positive mindset. With its beautiful illustrations of children’s movements and use of the affirmation chant, it gets kids excited about being the best version of themselves.
The Parent Component has short and simple tips that help you encourage your child to:
Be a leader
Do what they love
Be an encourager
Not to be afraid of hard work
Reason well
Be kind
Practice mindfulness
Be considerate of others
Open your mind to growth
Master your emotions
Love yourself
Speak wisely
Grow bravely
Progress not perfection
Develop resilience
Be a joyful learner
Build mental toughness
Practice gratitude
Set good goals
Embrace your gifts
Why I wrote this book
One of the things I discovered while reading and learning about changing your thinking, is that the things you learn as a young child, stay with you. An example of this is that during the preschool years you learn “The alphabet song” and “Mary had a little lamb”. Although you probably (unless you have little ones) haven’t sung those songs in ages, you still remember them. Also, young kids believe what you tell them. If you tell them there is a man that hands out every child in the world presents within one day – they believe you. They don’t reason themselves out of why it can’t be true. What would happen if we took that same strategy and used it to instill a positive self-image within your child? What if we were actively involved in instilling this mindset in our children at a young age? Hopefully, they will be able to remember the positive chants about their ability just like they are able to remember “Mary had a little lamb”
