When trying to improve and become the best version of yourself possible – there are three areas you should start setting goals in. By focusing on these three areas, it will help you to be successful in all the goals you set. We focus on your spirit, body, and mind. Once we have ourselves as parents in the right place, we focus on parenting and balancing our personal goals with our family goals.


Spirit
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these. things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33
We start with a focus on God and your relationship with him. The bible talks about seeking first (not only). As challenges arise, and when stressful situations come – we want to have a spiritual strategy for dealing with it. Allowing God’s peace and joy to be what brings you through those situations and not other vices.

Body
“Do you know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body” 1 Corthinans 6:19-20
If you aren’t in good health, it’s hard to have the energy to meet the goals you have set for yourself. Being healthy looks different for different people. However, taking care of our bodies has energizing rewards. Health is a continuous journey that we take as our bodies get older, grow, and adapts to the new stage we are in at this point in our lives. Setting goals to increase our health is a goal you should always have for yourself.

Mind
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will” Romans 12:2
Your mind and your thinking are probably the most significant area people overlook when it comes to setting goals for themselves. Having the self-awareness that challenges are learning opportunities, and knowing that you are not your thoughts can be challenging for people to keep in the forefront of their minds. Your mindset will be something that we will continue to take a look at and do different exercises to give you the mental toughness to complete your goals regardless of what arises.
